Armide is often considered as the masterpiece of Lully and Quinault’s collaboration. The tragic love of the magician Armide for the knight Renaud is celebrated through this poignant and deep score, notably with Armide’s famous monologue « Enfin, il est en ma puissance », set up as a model of the French recitative.

 

For this tour, the cast of the recording and staged production of the Opéra de Dijon and the Opéra royal de Versailles in 2022 has been reunited. With Stéphanie d’Oustrac stunning in the title role.
